The MPH in Epidemiology program provides students with an epidemiological approach to public health, which includes a broad overview to epidemiology, biostatistics, and the environmental influences on health, public health planning, and health services.

Epidemiology MPH Advanced Competencies
Graduates will be able to...
- Identify and apply advanced epidemiologic analyses using descriptive and inferential statistical approaches
- Interpret epidemiologic results in a causal framework
- Evaluate the strengths and limitations of epidemiologic literature
- Identify major diseases, their descriptive epidemiology, and risk factors
- Conduct analysis of epidemiologic data using linear, logistic, Cox, and Poisson regression models
- Describe the clinical trial study design and its application, strengths and limitations
All graduates also achieve the Council of Education in Public Health’s public health knowledge and foundational competencies for MPH students.
Requirements
- 45 credits through coursework, practicum experience, and research
- Foundational public health courses
- Advanced courses in epidemiology
- On-site public health practicum experience
- Essay research in an area of specialization
