Pitt Public Health reaccredited for another seven years

In early June, the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) reaccredited the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh for an additional period of seven years. The school’s last accreditation, in 2015, was extended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The success of this effort demonstrates our school’s effectiveness at meeting the highest standards in public health research, education and practice,” Dean Maureen Lichtveld, MD, MPH, said, calling CEPH accreditation “a benchmark of quality in the evaluation of public health programs.”

Lichtveld extended her appreciation to the many faculty, staff, students and members of University leadership who took part in assembling Pitt Public Health’s self-study and participated in the December CEPH site visit. Dean Lichtveld also acknowledged the school’s alumni and Board of Visitors who contributed to the successful reaccreditation.
