Contributions to Public Health
My research focuses on gender-based, social, and economic inequities and structural interventions for health promotion. In my work, I use integrated quantitative and qualitative methods and a stakeholder-engaged approach for action-oriented research. My work currently focuses on:
- Understanding the context of HIV risk, intimate partner violence, biobehavioral prevention, and intervention development for cisgender women.
- Conducting action-oriented research examining disparities in HIV prevention and care across key populations.
- Examining cisgender women’s health and well-being and structural interventions for health improvement within diverse settings.
Recent examples of this work include:
- “Provider Perspectives of PrEP for Women” (PI: O’Malley, 2024 –2025; 802192/UL1TR001857), a mixed methods pilot study focusing on women’s health serving providers in PA to understand prioritization, capacity, barriers and facilitators to implement PrEP for cisgender women.
