Dr. Demirci's major research area of interest is to investigate the genetic and molecular basis of complex human diseases/conditions including immune-mediated conditions and autoimmune diseases, inflammatory or malignant ocular disorders, cardiovascular and metabolic traits, and neurodegenerative and/or neuropsychiatric disorders. Her research involves the use of various molecular and omics approaches to gain further insights into the disease mechanisms and unravel new potential biomarkers and/or therapeutic targets.
